The 2023 Male Bag Ride, Victorian High Country, took place on the 19th to 22nd October 2023. This 4 day adventure had our participants enjoy a challenging yet rewarding treck all in support of funding prostate cancer research and treatment through the Male Bag Foundation!
DAY 1
Thursday, 19/10/23, was a challenging ride of 340km, stopping for lunch in Euroa and before finishing in the beautiful north-east Victorian town of Bright at the foothills of the Great Dividing Range.
DAY 2
Friday, 20/10/23, was a more leisurely day, highlighted by riding along the scenic Kiewa Valley before returning to Bright through the picturesque townships of Yackandandah, Beechworth, and Myrtleford.
DAY 3
Saturday, 21/10/23, we cruised up the King Valley for a dry lunch at the iconic Whitfield pub, then crossed the twisting mountain road that takes us toward Mansfield. Along the way, we made a stop at Power’s Lookout, where the gentleman bushranger Harry Power taught Ned Kelly the art of bushranging. We ended the day in Benalla for a fun night at our final dinner.
DAY 4
Sunday, 22/10/23, we return home along the Midland Highway to Bonnie Doon and the Maroondah Highway to Melbourne.
On returning home, we were left with many new friends, lasting memories, and stories to tell. More importantly, we helped The Male Bag Foundation continue to create future prostate cancer survivors.
Thank you to all who supported or participated in the 2023 Male Bag Ride.

On Friday 29th April we held the Male Bag Foundation annual dinner at Studley Grounds. In spite of the weather, which provided a drenching downpour just as everyone was arriving it was a brilliant night shared by foundation members and friends, sponsors and representatives from recipient hospitals. We were very fortunate to have the services of Sam Pang to run the night.
One highlight was Sam’s discussion with Shepparton’s prostate cancer nurse and their urologist. Their talk gave everyone a great understanding of what having a transperineal prostate biopsy machine at their hospital meant for men in their local area.

5km and 10km Walk
The Male Bag Foundation is proud and excited to announce the first Male Bag March, a walk around the Yarra Bend Park, Melbourne`s own inner city bush land. Yarra Bend Park is more than 260 hectares of wild and varied park lands and bush. As soon as you commence this walk you will be immersed in nature as you follow this remarkable trail beside the twist and turns of the mighty Yarra River, over the scenic foot bridges, throughout the eucalypt bushlands, past colonies fruit bats and into pockets of park land you never knew existed. As this is not a race we would encourage all family members to join in and support the wonderful cause. After all Prostate Cancer remains the number one men`s health issue in Australia today, approximately 20,000 men will be diagnosed each year and sadly over 3000 men will succumb to the disease annually.
