Numbering 17 riders and 5 support crew we covered 2,500 kms over 8 days riding around Victoria to promote awareness of prostate cancer. Ballarat Renault and Nissan Australia were very generous sponsors in providing the ride support vehicles. This ride raised over $85,000 that was donated to Ballarat Health Services to purchase the first transperineal biopsy machine available in a regional public hospital in Australia giving men in the Ballarat area access to safe, targeted, painless prostate biopsy in their local area. In its first year of operation this machine was used to perform 300 prostate biopsies, meaning 300 men did not risk serious sepsis infections.
