The 2016 fundraising ride was to be our shortest ride, although no less significant, as East Gippsland men suffer the highest per capita incidence of prostate cancer of anywhere in Victoria, hence the greatest need in terms of improving awareness and raising support.
This was a two day return ride from Melbourne to Lakes Entrance with 17 postie bikes travelling around 800km. Along with the riders came a 6 man support crew in 2 Nissan Utes and a mobile workshop.
$85,000 was raised and donated directly to Bairnsdale Regional Health Service Hospital for the purchase of the region’s first transperineal biopsy machine.
