The Male Bag Ride is Coming to Warrnambool

The Male Bag Foundation will be conducting a money raising effort on NOVEMBER 1ST to raise much needed funds for Prostate Cancer Research. It is widely researched that more men die each year as a result of Prostate Cancer, than women do from breast cancer. However, the Government and Society in general give more funds for research for breast cancer, than they do for prostate cancer. The need for further and ongoing research for Prostate Cancer is necessary to help those of you that might be affected in some way by this disease in the future.

The MALE BAG TEAM is made up of men who currently are battling prostate cancer or who have conquered this disease and now want to give back to society by giving of their time, energy and support by raising funds to help with research. Each year they ride postie bikes around a designated state to raise awareness of this disease stopping at towns and cities to speak at luncheons and sports/health dinners

The MALE BAG RIDE  has raised over $700,000 during the past two years and hope to raise this amount to $1,000,000 during this bike ride, with ALL PROCEEDS going towards the research of PROSTATE CANCER.

Warrnambool has been chosen for the first step of this marathon bike ride which will commence on SUNDAY 1ST NOVEMBER leaving Melbourne and arriving in Warrnambool escorted by the Ulysses Motor Bike Club around 4pm outside the MID CITY MOTOR INN with the dinner to follow at 6.30pm.

Football great DAVID PARKIN, who is also THE AMBASSADOR for the PROSTATE CANCER COUNCIL AUSTRALIA, will be crewing in this event and will be promoting the WARRNAMBOOL SECTION which will include a dinner/sports night for both men and women at THE MID CITY FUNCTION ROOM, on RADIO STATIONS across Western Victoria both prior to and during the ride. Sam Mitchell, current Hawthorn four time premiership player is a guest speaker.

David Parkin in his usual loud, excited way, talks to the men at the dinner on the awareness of prostate cancer and how it impacts on their lives. How important it is for them to have a yearly visit to their GP to have a simple blood test to establish their psa levels.

Sue Miller talks to the women on “Living with prostate cancer and the difficulties it presents on a daily basis, this is an RRated talk as she tackles the issues that arise around the home and finishes in the bedroom.

Throughout the night there will be raffles to raise funds, and to complete the night a SPORTS PANEL at which David Parkin will be joined by some of Warrnambool’s football greats. Sam Mitchell, current Hawthorn four time premiership player is the guest speaker.

We ask that you the CITY of WARRNAMBOOL  help us make this night a huge success by forward booking a table for ten people at a cost of $400.
