5km and 10km Walk
Yarra Bend Park
The Male Bag Foundation is proud and excited to announce the first Male Bag March, a walk around the Yarra Bend Park, Melbourne`s own inner city bush land. Yarra Bend Park is more than 260 hectares of wild and varied park lands and bush. As soon as you commence this walk you will be immersed in nature as you follow this remarkable trail beside the twist and turns of the mighty Yarra River, over the scenic foot bridges, throughout the eucalypt bushlands, past colonies fruit bats and into pockets of park land you never knew existed. As this is not a race we would encourage all family members to join in and support the wonderful cause. After all Prostate Cancer remains the number one men`s health issue in Australia today, approximately 20,000 men will be diagnosed each year and sadly over 3000 men will succumb to the disease annually.
So please support your Grandfathers, Fathers, Uncles, Husbands, Partners, Brothers and Sons – in this exciting walk.
Dogs (5km walk only)
The Yarra Bend Park is a multi-zone and dogs are permitted. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Due to the trail width we would prefer you restrict dogs to the 5km walk. Responsible dog owners please carry plastic bags to pick up all droppings, which can be deposited in bins near the toilet block or picnic areas
